Fits: Hyundai Elantra Sport 2017–2020, Hyundai Elantra GT Sport 2018, Hyundai Elantra GT N Line 2019–2020; 1.6T Gamma T-GDI; Kefico ECU.
What this is
A calibration file for the 1.6T Gamma T-GDI, developed and tuned in Canada by N75 Motorsports using an Elantra GT Sport, an Elantra GT N Line and a Veloster Turbo 2, delivered for your flash tool.
No overboost, no P0234. The 2019–2020 Elantra Sport and Elantra GT N Line carry a small, hard-to-find overboost map that drops the car into limp mode with P0234 at 21 psi, catching cars on aggressive piggyback tunes and some on the OEM tune. Our 91 Octane and higher maps run above 21 psi, so we lift that limit. We own an Elantra GT N Line and have the fix; owners come to us when the dealer cannot find the cause.
Our 2018 Elantra GT Sport 6-speed test car (intake, coils, GFB BOV, Race Valve, catch can, HKS M45XL plugs) made 214 whp / 270 wtq on the 91 Octane tune, up from 169–174 whp / 218 wtq at 16 psi stock with the intake: a 40–44 whp and 51.5 wtq gain. The car had a partially clogged cat that caused surging on the dyno and likely cost power.
Tune options
| Option | Boost target and output | Required mods and fuel |
|---|---|---|
| Daily Driver | 18 psi typical, rarely 19, never over 19: a slight boost lift, with boost delivery and how much the turbo holds toward redline changed; ignition timing and VVT stay stock, so power is made in other ways (more boost needs higher-octane fuel). A flash alternative to a piggyback box. | No mods required. 91 octane suggested; also runs on 89 (not recommended, but safe). Oil catch can and N75 Race Valve (EBCS) suggested; HKS M40XL or NGK 1422 or better. |
| Daily Driver Pop Tune | Daily Driver plus pops and bangs on decel. | As Daily Driver, plus a downpipe and an Xforce mid pipe (this platform has two cats). |
| Daily Driver "Showtune" | Daily Driver plus pops with flames. | As Daily Driver, plus a downpipe and an Xforce mid pipe. |
| 91 Octane | 21–23 psi. 240 whp with axle-back, FMIC and intake, made by many customers. Moderate timing advance, VVT adjustment. | Shell V-Power 91, zero ethanol; oil catch can; HKS M45XL or NGK heat range 9 racing plugs; N75 Race Valve. |
| 91 Octane Pop Tune | 91 Octane plus pops and bangs on decel. | As 91 Octane, plus a downpipe and an Xforce mid pipe. |
| 91 Octane "Showtune" | 91 Octane plus pops with flames. | As 91 Octane, plus a downpipe and an Xforce mid pipe. |
| 100 Octane/WMI/Dyno Tune | 24–25 psi. 245–250 whp with full catless exhaust and our FMIC. Aggressive timing advance, VVT adjustment. This option also covers a WMI map or a dyno-tuned file; email us with your setup first. | Shell V-Power 91 plus a full can of Race Gas Ultra or VP MS109, or Shell 91 with Boostane Professional every tank; full exhaust, FMIC, full bolt-ons; oil catch can; HKS M45XL or NGK Racing R2556B-9/-10; N75 Race Valve and any GFB BOV. |
| 100 Octane/WMI/Dyno Tune Add Pop Tune | 100 Octane plus pops and bangs on decel. | As 100 Octane, plus a downpipe and an Xforce mid pipe. |
| Race Track Lap Map (EXTREME MAPPING) | 26–28 psi. As much power as the OEM engine and turbo can make; limiters removed; 400+ maps modified. | Full bolt-ons plus the 100 Octane fuel, plugs, catch can, Race Valve and BOV. |
Daily Driver is for a stock car. 91 Octane is our everyday calibration, designed to last the life of the car without the tune being the cause of failure; customers have over 75,000 miles on it. 100 Octane is for cars on race fuel or octane booster every tank. The Race Track Lap Map is the 100 Octane map pushed further. We built it because customers asked for an extreme map. We do not recommend it; order it only if you want the most power the OEM turbo can make and accept the faster turbo wear.
Options explained
- Add HR9 spark plugs: a set of heat range 9 plugs with your order; choose Yes unless you already run a plug listed below.
- Pop Tune and Showtune: any added pops need a downpipe and an Xforce mid pipe, because this platform has two catalytic converters. Showtune shoots flames when it pops.
- 7000 RPM shift (6-speed only): on request on 6-speed cars; not available on DCT cars with 1.6T Kefico tuning.
- Launch control (6-speed): on request, at any RPM you choose.
- Idle lift, speed-limiter removal, DTC removal: on request; raised idle is Sport-mode-only on 2019–2020 Elantra GT Sport and Elantra Sport DCT cars, all modes on other cars.
- Turbo upgrade tunes: tuned separately for our Stage 1 turbo (larger K04 compressor, billet wheel over 51 mm inducer) and Stage 2 turbo, which targets 25 psi for approximately 310 whp with catless exhaust and our FMIC kit; that turbo has already been tuned to 300 whp on 91 octane. Email us with the full build.
How it works after you order
- Email info@n75motorsports.ca (or Facebook or Instagram) before buying with your car, year, transmission and mods, and every detail of any build beyond an OEM turbo.
- Order your tune option and plug choice, specifying the vehicle.
- We deliver the tuned file. This listing is the file only; a flash tool must be bought separately or added to your order. Email us for the right tool for your car.
- We may cancel an order for a car with a mechanical fault.
Calibration features
Developed in Canada with WinOLS; click the badge to verify our licence with EVC.
- Warm-up protection: the 1.6T boost-versus-oil-temperature map is set to 50% power until oil temperature reaches 50 °C, 70% at 60 °C and 100% at 70 °C, so high-boost maps only apply boost on a warm engine.
- Torque management: all torque maps optimized for the torque-request model.
- WOT and turbo management: WOT maps, wastegate duty cycle and related maps optimized for a smooth powerband.
- Ignition timing: optimized per map and fuel grade.
- AFR: the factory map runs very rich at high RPM; corrected for more power and less fuel (91 octane required).
- VVT: cam timing changed for more power.
- Overboost correction: the 21 psi limit on 2019–2020 cars is lifted.
Tune safety is most important to us. We do not disable ECU safeties.
How we tune
We tune in WinOLS with a Kefico 1.6T mappack that started at 173 maps and now holds over 2,100, which lets us edit the RPM shift, speed limiter and DTC maps; we find the maps ourselves and build every file in-house. We log all systems on our tunes, including wastegate duty cycle, and every tune was tested on multiple vehicles before the first customer car. We have helped tuners in Australia, the UK and Korea and assist a tuning-software maker in Italy.
Before you order
- Fuel: Shell V-Power 91 with zero ethanol on every map above Daily Driver; ethanol absorbs water, and third-party tests put 90/10 premium closer to 85/15.
- Plugs: 91 Octane: HKS M45XL or an NGK heat range 9 racing plug (R2556B-9). 100 Octane and Race Track Lap Map: HKS M45XL or NGK Racing R2556B-9 or R2556B-10. Daily Driver: HKS M40XL or NGK 1422 or better.
- Oil catch can and Race Valve: required on every map above Daily Driver and suggested on it; our N75 Race Valve (EBCS) logged a 1–2 psi gain and steadier boost on three stock-tune cars in Canada and Australia.
- Daily driving on 100 Octane: even on race gas it wears the turbo faster; the bearings were not designed for the shaft speed 25 psi needs.
- Race Track Lap Map: faster turbo wear; same requirements as 100 Octane.
FAQ
Do I send you my ECU?
No. You flash the file with a flash tool bought separately or added to the order. The file changes engine calibration data only, and the car can be flashed back to the stock file with the same tool.
Will my 2019–2020 car overboost or throw P0234?
Not on our tune. We lift the 21 psi limit that triggers limp mode and P0234.
Can I run the pop tune with a catalytic converter?
This platform has two cats, so a pop tune needs a downpipe and an Xforce mid pipe. Many catted cars have been pop-tuned against our advice, some with 25,000 km without issue; the risk is cat damage and, worst case, engine damage.
Can you remove fault codes or raise the rev limit?
Yes: any DTC you ask for, such as a downpipe code or a BOV without a solenoid, and the 7000 RPM shift on 6-speed cars described above.
Use and liability notice
High-boost maps need the listed supporting mods, fuel and plugs. N75 Motorsports takes no responsibility for damage where they are missing, fuel or plugs are wrong, the stock catalytic converters are kept on a pop tune, or a pre-existing fault worsens on a tune.
