Works with: nearly all Hyundai and Kia ECUs and some TCUs, including the 8-speed N DCT TCU (TAD801) with a bench kit. 2024+ Elantra N requires a bench harness kit.
What this is
The EK1 Mini2+ is a portable OBD flash and logging tool from NKLABS Korea, which has worked in ECU tuning for 22 years and released its first portable end-user tuning device in 2009. It reads and writes ECU files through the OBD port with no ECU unlocking, stores multiple maps, logs live data and reads fault codes. With our tuning portal, you can get an N75 Motorsports ECU or TCU tune anywhere in the world.

What is in the box
- EK1 Mini2+ device
- OBD power cable with blue IGN2 wire
- microSD card, high-speed Class 10 or better
- 4-in-1 SD card adapter (USB and Apple)
- N75 Motorsports N52 magnetic dash mount
- 1 ft USB-C to USB-C cable (PC updates)
- 1 ft USB-C to USB-A cable (PCs without USB-C)
- N75 Motorsports sticker, jet tag and keychain bottle opener
- EK1 PC update software (download link sent after payment)
Options explained
- Add ECU custom tune and 3 revisions (4 files total): portal access, one tuning request for your ECU and three variants of that tune, four files in all. Variants can be higher octane, pops and bangs, our flame-shooting Showtune, or whatever you wish. Any staged tune we offer for a vehicle the EK1 supports qualifies, including Stage 3, flame and track tuning. The one exception is the Multi Map Rolling Anti-Lag (race start) file, which needs boot mode (pinouts directly to the ECU board). RPM shift option, any stage: 7000 RPM on DCT, 7200 RPM on 6-speed. Specify your vehicle model in the order notes. No bench kit is included. E50 Tuning, Hybrid turbo, name it, we have you covered! EK1 acts like a map switching device flashing new ECU files within 2 minutes or less.
- Add colder heat range 9 spark plugs (set of 4): one set of four colder (heat range 9) plugs added to your order.
How it works after you order
- Order. The EK1 PC update software is added to your cart at checkout; save the download link sent after payment.
- Install it. Blue wire to a 12 V+ fuse-box source live only in IGN2 (two presses of the start button, not accessory mode).
- Create an account at login.n75tuning.com.
- Read your ECU or just its ID, depending on model and year; files land in the SD card's Maps folder (the ECU checker on N75Tuning.com tells you which ECU you have). Newer device updates produce no file for an ID read, so photograph the ID screen and upload that. Unsure which read you need? Email cs@n75tuning.com and do not proceed.
- Upload to the portal: ECU ID or read file, EKM device serial (back of the device), VIN, make, model, year, order number, modifications and the file from the Maps folder.
- Register the device ID at EK1tool.com (required before we can convert files) and update the device from there.
- Create an account and open a tuning ticket request on N75tuning.ca.
- We send your OEM file and a base file matched to your mods (an off-the-shelf map to gauge your engine). Put it in the Maps folder, write the Bootpatch if applicable, then the base file.
- Log the base file (RPM, boost or MAP, relative and absolute throttle, ignition timing, AFR, STFT, LTFT, vehicle speed, plus wastegate position and target where supported; any additional parameters help) and upload 3rd and 4th gear wide-open-throttle pulls from the Logs folder to N75tuning.com.
- Download the revised files from N75Tuning.com into the Maps folder, write the tune you want and drive.

360 whp / 380 ft-lb on a Veloster N DCT (Dynojet, SAE correction).
Device features
- Read and write: ECU read and flash over OBD, no unlocking.
- Multiple maps: keep several tune files on the SD card.
- Logging: refresh rate comparable to professional tuner tools.
- Diagnostics: DTC reading and basic reset functions.
- TCU support: 8-speed N DCT TCU (TAD801) read and write, bench kit needed.
- Hardware: colour screen, four capacitive buttons, microSD slot, USB-C and DLC (OBD cable) ports.

Before you order
- 2024+ Elantra N requires a bench harness kit. Bench kits are not included, even when tuning is added.
- Multi Map Rolling Anti-Lag cannot be flashed through the EK1 (boot mode only).
- Blue wire: IGN2 source only (12 V+, live only with ignition on).
FAQ
Do I need to unlock my ECU first?
No. It reads and writes without ECU unlocking.
Does every N75 tune go through the EK1?
Every tune we offer for a supported vehicle does, except the Multi Map Rolling Anti-Lag (race start) file. The structural changes in that file mean it cannot be flashed through the EK1 and must be written in boot mode (pinouts directly to the ECU board).
Should I read the full ECU or just the ECU ID?
Depends on model and year; if unsure, email support first.
For support, contact cs@n75tuning.com.
Which EK1 do I need?
EK1 Mini2+, the portable one. Reads, writes and logs the same ECUs as the EK1 Pro, stores multiple maps on the SD card and reads fault codes. It has a colour screen with four buttons and is meant to be used in hand, not left on the dash. Best if you want the lowest-cost route to an N75 tune.
EK1 Pro, the in-car one. The same read/write/log engine plus a larger multi-colour touchscreen with live gauges, built to stay mounted in the car. Phone-app flashing and Dragy-style timing are coming to the Pro only. Best if you want a permanent display and the future features.
Both work through the OBD port with no ECU unlocking, cover nearly all Hyundai/Kia ECUs and the N DCT TCU, and connect to the N75 tuning portal from anywhere. 2024+ Elantra N needs the bench harness kit with either device.
