Fits: Hyundai Elantra Sport, Elantra GT Sport and Elantra GT N Line, Hyundai Veloster Turbo and Kia Forte GT with the 7-speed dry dual-clutch (DCT7), 2017–2024; 1.4T DCT variants worldwide are also supported. This is the tuning only — the TCU is not included.
What this is
A full recalibration of the transmission control unit (TCU) for the 7-speed dry dual-clutch gearbox — our N7.7 tune — developed in-house in Canada by N75 Motorsports with help from tuners in Australia, the UK and Korea. Owners report quicker, more consistent shifts and better throttle feel.
You can have it done two ways: ship your TCU to us in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, or flash our file yourself with an EK1 device. We develop and support this calibration alongside our own N75 ECU tune; Stage 1 also runs with any ECU tune, and only the Clutch Hold launch function needs ours.
Tune options
| Stage | What you get | Requirements |
|---|---|---|
| Stage 1 | For an OEM-turbo car that does not need the 7000 RPM shift. The full recalibration without the no-limit shift: revised shift tables, increased clutch clamping pressure, a raised torque limiter and Hyundai-spec shift values. | Works with any ECU tune. Only the Clutch Hold launch function needs an N75 ECU tune, which can be added with Stage 1. Flash it yourself with an EK1 device, or ship your TCU in. |
| Stage 2 | The full recalibration plus the 7000 RPM no-limit shift: the DCT no longer upshifts on its own and holds the gear until you command the shift or it reaches 7000 RPM. | We develop and support this alongside an N75 ECU tune (add it with the ECU option, or order it separately). Flash it yourself with an EK1 device, or ship your TCU in. |
Choose Stage 1 if you keep the OEM turbo and do not need the 7000 RPM shift; it works with any ECU tune, and only the Clutch Hold function needs ours. Choose Stage 2 for the full recalibration with the raised shift point; we develop and support it alongside an N75 ECU tune.
Options explained
- Add Stage 3 ECU Recalibration (With or without Pops): choose Yes to add our ECU recalibration to the same order, with or without pops and bangs. This is also what enables the Clutch Hold launch function. Tell us your exact vehicle (year, model, transmission) when you add it.
- Clutch Hold needs an N75 ECU tune; it is the closest this transmission gets to a launch function.
- The 7000 RPM no-limit shift is Stage 2 only.
How it works after you order
- Order your stage and options and tell us your exact vehicle (year, model, transmission).
- Ship your TCU to Toronto, Ontario, Canada — we send mailing instructions after you order — or flash our file yourself with an EK1 device.
- Turnaround is 24–48 hours during the week.

Calibration features

Every feature below is in both stages except the no-limit shift, which is Stage 2 only; Clutch Hold also needs an N75 ECU tune.
- No-limit shift (Stage 2 only): the DCT no longer upshifts on its own; it holds the gear until you command the shift or it reaches 7000 RPM.
- Increased clutch clamping pressure: higher pressure limits on the clutch, so it holds in higher-power setups.
- Revised shift tables: the way the gearbox shifts in each gear is changed, for quicker, more consistent shifts.
- Raised torque limiter: the TCU torque limiter is raised so it no longer caps the car the way the stock limiter does, which matters at the drag strip and lets an N75 ECU tune make full use of the gearbox.
- Hyundai-spec shift values: we compared factory DCT calibrations across the Kia Forte GT, Kia Cerato GT, Hyundai Elantra Sport and Hyundai Tucson; the Tucson's versions of the same maps carry higher values, applied here for a better-driving DCT.
- Clutch Hold (needs an N75 ECU tune): with the brake and throttle applied, the clutch holds longer than stock and builds a little boost before launch. The dry dual-clutch hardware cannot run a true launch control.
How we tune
Over 500 hours of R&D went into our own Elantra GT N Line before we went public in October 2021. There is no public tuning support or map definition for this TCU, so every map was found through our own testing and experience — we even pictured what the TCU calibration data looks like. We wanted more than a single 7000 RPM shift map, so this is a full recalibration, not one map.
Before you order
- Clutch condition: this recalibration changes shift, clamping and torque-limit behaviour, but it cannot repair a clutch that is already worn or mechanically slipping — that is a pre-existing condition, not something a recalibration fixes.
- Clutch Hold and the launch function need an N75 ECU tune. Add our ECU recalibration to the order if you want them.
- Tell us your exact vehicle — year, model and transmission — when you add an ECU tune.
FAQ
Do I send you my TCU, or can I flash it myself?
Either. Ship your TCU to us in Toronto, Ontario, Canada — we send mailing instructions after you order — or flash our file yourself with an EK1 device.
Do I need an N75 ECU tune?
We develop and support this calibration alongside an N75 ECU tune, and the Clutch Hold launch function needs one. Stage 1 itself works with any ECU tune. You can add our ECU recalibration to the order, with or without pops.
What is the difference between Stage 1 and Stage 2?
Stage 1 is the full recalibration without the 7000 RPM no-limit shift. Stage 2 adds it.
Will this fix my clutch slip?
No. It changes how the gearbox shifts, clamps and limits torque, but it cannot repair a clutch that is already worn or slipping.
Use and liability notice
A TCU recalibration changes shift, clamping and torque-limit behaviour. N75 Motorsports takes no responsibility for damage where the gearbox has a pre-existing mechanical fault such as a worn or slipping clutch, where a feature that requires an N75 ECU tune is used without one, or where the car is run outside its design limits.
