What this is
A custom, made-to-order hybrid turbocharger for the 1.6T Gamma engine: a K03-size turbo built with K04 internals, which is what we mean by hybrid. Each one is rebuilt, machined, balanced and assembled in Canada. It is an OEM-replacement turbo, so you replace your factory turbo with it.
With a front-mount intercooler (FMIC), supporting mods and a tune, the setup is capable of 300 whp+ on pump gas. It is sold with a core-exchange, or for the Elantra cars a complete-conversion option.
Why we built it
We call this the Project DCT Turbo. After tuning several DCT cars we found that a large turbo did not reach full spool before the car hit the rev limiter. This turbo is built to spin up quickly while making the same power, so it suits the 1.6T Gamma cars.
It has run over 23 psi at 6100 rpm. With the right fuel, our tune and supporting mods, it is capable of around 315 whp. On the Elantra cars the complete conversion needs no extra parts.
What owners report
Owners report that the turbo spools up faster and that there is an audible difference in the sound. They also report that we kept them updated and communicated honestly.
