Use it on: intake pipes, intercooler and charge piping, the intake manifold, air boxes, firewalls, engine covers, bulkheads, heat shields and any surface that needs protection from radiant heat. A universal self-adhesive tape — not vehicle-specific.
What this is
DEI Reflect-A-Gold is a universal, self-adhesive gold heat-reflective tape made by Design Engineering, Inc. It reflects radiant heat and handles continuous temperatures up to 800°F. It reduces heat soak into air boxes, seats, firewalls, transmission tunnels and intakes. Suited to race and track use.
It is made from a metalized polyimide laminated to a lightweight glass-fiber cloth, with a high-temperature pressure-sensitive adhesive protected by a release liner. It is 0.0065" thick, lightweight, needs minimal clearance and will not lift off.
Features
- Reflects radiant heat; handles continuous temperatures up to 800°F
- Self-adhesive, with the adhesive and release liner rated up to 325°F
- Metalized polyimide on a lightweight glass-fiber cloth
- 0.0065" thick, minimal clearance
- Resists UV degradation
- Easy to apply and will not lift off
Options
- Size: 1.5" x 30' or 2" x 30'. Choose the width to suit the surface — 1.5" for narrower pipes and tight runs, 2" for wider pipes, end tanks and larger panels.
How to apply
Apply it to a clean, dry surface. Cut the tape to length, peel back the release liner, and press it down firmly. We also offer to wrap the end tanks and cold pipe of our FMIC (front-mount intercooler) kit with this tape.
