ACL Race Series Rod Bearing Set, standard size — a full set of eight tri-metal big-end shells for the 2.0 litre Theta II turbo bottom end. Copper-lead-tin lining on a high-tensile steel back, with extra crush and extra eccentricity so the shells hold their shape and keep an oil film under boost and high rpm.
Fitment — confirmed against ACL's own application guide: Hyundai Veloster N 2019-2022, Elantra N 2022-2026 and Kona N 2022-2023 — 2.0L Theta II turbo (G4KH).
Standard size means a crankshaft still at factory journal size. If your crank has been reground, you need the 0.25 mm undersize set instead. Ask us and we will order it in.
From ACL: tri-metal construction, with a lead-tin-copper overlay over a nickel barrier layer and a copper-lead-tin lining on SAE1010 high-tensile steel. The higher steel tensile strength improves bearing retention, and the increased eccentricity compensates for bore distortion and helps the hydrodynamic oil film form.
Details: 8 shells, one pair per rod; standard journal size, standard clearance; rod housing bore 51.000-51.018 mm; crank rod journal 47.954-47.972 mm; wall thickness 1.513 mm at the crown; shell length 17.00 mm; design vertical oil clearance 0.010-0.062 mm.
Rod bearings only. There are no main bearings in this set, so a full bottom-end refresh needs the main set as well.
A note on appearance. Race Series shells arrive with a dark tarnished colouring that can look black, brown or blue. ACL applies no cosmetic tin flash. It is deliberate, and it is not a defect or old stock.
Final oil clearance is the engine builder's responsibility, and ACL asks that shells are never polished on the bearing surface to change it.
Availability: IN STOCK at our distributor as of 5 November 2026.
