Works with: any car with factory (wired) Apple CarPlay, and all Hyundai and Kia with factory CarPlay or Android Auto. On Hyundai and Kia, a car with one has both, so if your car has either, this unit works.

What this is

This is an in-car Android adapter that plugs into a factory CarPlay or Android Auto head unit and turns it into a full touchscreen Android 9 device with the Google Play Store. It also gives your phone wireless Android Auto and wireless CarPlay.

We worked with the maker to set this unit up to run on Hyundai and Kia head units.

What it does

  • Gives your phone wireless Android Auto and wireless CarPlay

  • Can link a dashcam to the infotainment system to record

Setup and mounting

  1. Your car needs factory Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
  2. The adapter plugs into the head unit's CarPlay or USB port by cable. The car side is wired; it then makes Android Auto and CarPlay wireless for your phone.
  3. For online apps and maps, give the unit its own internet: hotspot your phone, or add a SIM card for mobile data.
  4. Mount it out of sight with the included velcro and double-sided tape. On Hyundai models, the top of the centre console by the USB port works well.

What owners report

Owners report the adapter works well overall. It needs its own data connection for online apps and maps: hotspot your phone or add a SIM card. Some owners note a short delay or occasional lag; adjusting the Android box settings can help.

Options

  • Setup: Eight Core Processor 64GB 5G (Pro) (Wireless AA/CP): the Pro unit, with the octa-core processor, 64GB storage and wireless Android Auto and CarPlay. This is the one configuration offered.

FAQ

Does my car need factory CarPlay or Android Auto?

Yes. Any car with factory wired Apple CarPlay works, as does any Hyundai or Kia with either CarPlay or Android Auto.

How do I get internet for apps like YouTube or maps?

Hotspot your phone to the unit, or add a SIM card for mobile data.

Does it connect to my car wirelessly?

No. The adapter connects by cable at the CarPlay or USB port, then gives your phone wireless Android Auto or CarPlay. Mount it out of the way with the included tape.

Which apps come on it?

It runs Android 9 with the Google Play Store. Netflix, YouTube and Spotify are pre-installed, and you can install others such as Torque Pro.

overall good

Overall it is good. Wish I knew that it needed a sim card but oh well. It does lag quite a bit but not sure why. Currently trying to figure out if it can be updated and trying to find a sim card that will work for it that wont break the bank. Again, overall review is good.

You can hotspot your phone, that is what we do usually.

Lag is very odd, these units usually do not have much lag, a little of course, but it is usually not noticeable enough to bug the user. Try changing the settings on the Android box.

It’s not bad

The only thing that I feel is a problem is the delay of 1 second and sometimes it cut but everything else is good on it. There probably better stuff around but this one is good too

Not as good as I thought

Not as good as I thought it was gonna be. Seems a bit outdated and the cable is to so it gets in the way

Can you email us on what you mean by outdated? The cable is needed to make a connection with your vehicle's system, the vehicle is not wireless, so the module cannot be, it makes everything wireless after but it needs to be plugs in.
