What this is

A new Veloster N ECU, calibrated in-house by N75 Motorsports, fully customizable, and coded to your car, with three power levels and rolling anti-lag on board. No downtime, your OEM ECU is never touched, and Bluelink works like OEM. Our ECUs work anywhere in the world.

Maps and how to switch

The ECU holds three maps and you change between them without flashing the car. Choose the bundle at checkout:

  • 1-2-3: Stage 1, Stage 2 and Stage 3.
  • 2-2-2+: two Stage 2 maps and a 2+ map.
  • 2+-3-3+: 2+, Stage 3 and 3+.

Run the required mods for the highest map you plan to use. If you add pops, note the variation you want for each map in your order notes.

Rolling anti-lag

Hold the cruise control button and anti-lag comes on; release it and it shuts off, adding boost in a rolling 60–130. That button is repurposed, so you may lose cruise control. Anti-lag is aggressive on the engine and turbocharger, repeated use will damage the motor over time, and we do not suggest showing off with it.

Stages

Stock output is around 250–270 whp. All maps are dyno tested by our dealers overseas; we under-list power because fuel varies worldwide.

Stage Power Required mods
Stage 1 295 whp / 310 ft-lbs Heat range 9 spark plugs. HPFP upgrade recommended.
Stage 2 310–335 whp / 335 wtq, octane depending Heat range 9 spark plugs; HPFP upgrade recommended; any air intake; fuel injector upgrade.
Stage 3 355 whp / 355 ft-lbs Heat range 9 spark plugs; intake; HPFP upgrade; FMIC upgrade; WMI (required); downpipe and catless or high-flow exhaust.

Stage 2 lists injectors after a large number of OEM injector failures, some failing open, which is unsafe for the engine.

Stage 3 dyno sheet: 357 whp on the N75 Motorsports Elantra N 6-speed test car

Stage 3 — 357 whp on our Elantra N 6-speed test car (Dynojet, STD correction).

Options explained

  • 7000/7200 RPM shift (any stage, applied to all maps): 7000 RPM on DCT cars, 7200 RPM on 6-speed cars. Most useful with an Elantra N turbocharger swap, where the larger turbo makes boost higher in the rev range in our dyno testing.
  • N Mode pop map (selectable per map): pop sound changed through the ECU, more aggressive than OEM, N Mode only like OEM. High-flow catted or catless downpipe recommended.
  • Flame map: pop flames tuned in. The car must be catless. Flames are produced on rev hang.

How it works after you order

  1. Order with your map bundle and options, then send us your VIN and transmission type (6-speed manual or DCT). That is all we need.
  2. We code a new ECU to your car, load your three maps and ship it with tracking.

Calibration features

Developed in Canada on our own R&D car and test cars overseas, with WinOLS and the full factory definition (damos) for this ECU. Click the badge to verify our WinOLS licence with EVC.

  • Fuel delivery: the N engine's fuel delivery is not set for high boost; HPFP and fuel maps are remapped so the ECU does not pull power and cut fuel under high demand.
  • AFR: the factory calibration runs very rich; corrected for more power and better fuel economy.
  • Torque, timing, airflow and VVT: torque maps changed rather than just lifting boost; timing raised in selected areas for a smoother powerband; air limits and manifold charge raised; VVT changed slightly; WOT areas optimized together.
  • Turbo management: wastegate duty cycle, pressure application and turbo limits changed; boost increased; wastegate opening limits changed to help spool.
  • Overboost: stock is around 18–20 PSI; lifted to around 25 PSI, removed completely on Stage 3 and up.
  • Thermal management: full power and boost only once engine oil is up to temperature; coolant fan on at 100% instead of 50%; on Stage 2 and 3, exhaust and intake model temperature limits raised so power holds toward redline.
  • O2 monitoring: primary O2 monitoring never triggers a fault code; no codes deleted, O2 DTCs removed only on request.
  • Octane learning: disabled by default; left on if you ask.
  • Assisted launch control: more boost during launch-ready and in first and second gear, up to 13 psi standing still in launch mode.

DCT only

  • Interface removal (Stage 2 and up): the DCT's power reduction in certain shifter positions is removed.
  • Increased clutch pressure: the ECU requests more clutch clamping force from the TCU, logged with Hyundai dealership scan tools.
  • 2-step style anti-lag: aggressive pops and flames during launch control, spinning the turbo to 17–18 PSI.

Before you order

  • We can tune on the OEM HPFP, but it is a weak point and we suggest replacing it.
  • 5w40 full synthetic engine oil and top-tier premium fuel are suggested; power figures are octane dependent.

FAQ

Do I send you my ECU?

No. We code a new ECU from your VIN and transmission type.

Will I keep cruise control?

Maybe not. The cruise control button triggers anti-lag on this ECU.

Use and liability notice

Stage 2 and 3 raise OEM temperature limits. N75 Motorsports takes no responsibility for damage from lifted temperature limits where the car lacks the supporting mods, or runs incorrect fuel or plugs, a charge-pipe leak, non-recommended engine oil, poor maintenance, incorrect WMI fluid, or a pre-existing mechanical issue that becomes far worse on a tune.
