Red Line MTL is the light end of Red Line's manual gearbox range, an SAE 75W-80 on a full synthetic polyol ester base. Red Line describes it as behaving like a low 75W — almost a 70W — at very low temperatures and a high 80W, nearly an 85W, once hot, which is how it keeps shift effort down on a cold morning without going thin in traffic.
It carries an API GL-4 rating and is formulated for a synchroniser-friendly coefficient of friction rather than maximum slipperiness, which is what Red Line credits for curing notchy shifting. Red Line states the chemistry is non-corrosive to synchros and bushings, and that MTL also covers API GL-1 and GL-3 applications, most special synchromesh fluids, and gearboxes specified for SAE 30 or 5W-30/10W-30 motor oil.

Fitment: A manual transmission and transaxle oil. Use it where the gearbox specifies a 75W, 80W or 85W GL-4 gear oil, an SAE 30 or 5W-30/10W-30 motor oil, or a special synchromesh fluid. Red Line lists it as popular in BMW, Honda/Acura, late-model Mini Cooper, Ford Focus, Land Rover/Range Rover LT77S and Mitsubishi manual gearboxes, and in Dodge and Jeep NV1500, NV3500, NV3550 and NV5600 truck transmissions. Against the rest of Red Line's GL-4 range: MTL (75W-80) is lighter than MT-85 (75W-85) and MT-90 (75W-90) and heavier than MT-LV (70W/75W). Step up to MT-90 only if the box calls for a 90-weight GL-4 or an SAE 40/10W-40/15W-40 motor oil.
Please note: Not for rear-wheel-drive or hypoid differentials. Red Line states MTL is not designed for use in rear-wheel-drive differentials, which generally require a GL-5 lubricant such as Red Line 75W-90 GL-5 Gear Oil.

First let's preface I have tried three other tuners. Not bad mounting or name dropping as they all were solid tunes. But Daniel just has that magic touch when tuning the 1.6 platform.
The car has a buttery smooth power band making the car feel like a larger displacement six cylinder over a turbo charged car. Plenty of fun to be had at any speed or RPM range.
He will take the time to get you dialed in perfectly for your car. No canned tunes here folks. And if you are a EK1 user three tunes for the price of one simply can't be neat.
I received the Stage 2 tune. Here are my thoughts:
- The shifts are buttery smooth
- I love the auto shift @2000rpm when cruising around town; saves me an extra 2-3mpg overall
- Driving in traffic is a dream now, much better than stock. I don't even hear that annoying shifting fork anymore, lol
- Any and all DCT slips are gone
- The increase in torque limit! This opened up my N75 Stage 3 ECU tune; I can feel the difference. The last time I dynoed, I got 289 lb-ft of torque. But it feels much more substantial than that!
- The clamping force is unreal. I did a run from a dig, and it hooked and slammed through the gears all the way to 7k rpm in each gear. Amazing.
Conclusion: This TCU tune is a must-have. If you have an N75 ECU tune, it is an absolute game-changer! Especially with the Redline MT-LV fluid that I'm running. I can't wait to get my retune with water meth injection. Daniel and the rest of the N75 team are the best!

After using the N75 tune for a couple of months, I can confidently say that it offers the best value for your money on the market. I've tried SXTH and LAP3 tunes before, but since switching to N75, I won't look back. With top-notch customer support, it ensures your car performs better, turning heads at every car meet.
Been running stage 2 off that bat and had some problems here and their regarding fueling. Daniel has been with me the whole way, answering questions and adjusting tunes while adding revisions whenever asked. He answers every question I ask even when they don’t relate to tuning.
