Fits: Hyundai Veloster Turbo 2019-2021 (the second-generation Veloster Turbo) and Kia Forte GT 2020 onward. Engine: 1.6T Gamma. This is the version for cars with the electronic (electric) wastegate actuator.

What this is

The HT300 is our hybrid, or stuffed, turbocharger for the 1.6T Gamma engine: a genuine BorgWarner K03 core packed with K04-style internals. It is a direct, OEM-style replacement that bolts into the stock turbo location, built with upgraded internals to run a high-boost tune. It is rated at 300 whp+.

Each unit is machined, balanced and assembled here in Canada by a turbo rebuilder we work with. We have over 35,000 km of testing and R&D behind this turbo since the end of 2020.

A supporting N75 tune and full bolt-ons (FBO) are required to run it. See our VT2 and Forte GT remote tune for the matching calibration.

Why it makes more power

The power comes from the internals. The HT300 uses upgraded bearings, an upgraded billet compressor wheel over a 51 mm inducer, and an upgraded nine-blade turbine wheel on the exhaust side. Our turbo rebuilder estimates roughly a 30% increase in "turbo power" over the stock unit. With that behind it, the engine can run higher boost at higher RPM and hold boost toward redline, which is where the extra power is made.

What owners report

An owner of a Kia Forte GT reports being impressed with the result and calls it a must-have for a faster Forte GT, while noting the install is a fair amount of work.

Features

  • Genuine BorgWarner K03 core stuffed with upgraded K04-style internals
  • Upgraded bearings, an upgraded billet compressor wheel over a 51 mm inducer, and a 45 mm nine-blade turbine wheel
  • Machined, balanced and assembled in Canada
  • Direct, OEM-style replacement that bolts into the stock turbo location
  • On our own test car: 291 whp on 91-octane Shell V-Power and 297 whp on pump gas without water/methanol injection (WMI); capable of 330 whp+ with more fuel and supporting mods
  • Boost of about 22 psi at 6850 rpm, 24.5 psi at 6100 rpm, and over 24 psi at 6500 rpm
  • Reaches 300 whp with a front-mount intercooler (FMIC) kit and supporting mods
  • Over 35,000 km of testing and R&D since the end of 2020
  • Full bolt-ons and a supporting N75 tune required

Options

  • NO CORE (SENDING IN YOUR TURBO): you send us your existing turbo to use as the core for the build.
  • CORE CHARGE (TURBO EXCHANGE PROGRAM): the turbo-exchange route. You pay a core charge and receive a built turbo from our exchange stock, rather than waiting while we build your own unit.

Installation

The HT300 is a direct, OEM-style replacement and bolts into the stock turbo location. You will need studs for the install: reuse the exhaust-manifold studs from your old turbo, or source new ones, as the new turbo may not come with them. Fit full bolt-ons and load a supporting N75 tune before running boost.

Ordering and lead time

This is a custom-order part, built to order, so allow a 2-4 week wait. Orders cannot be cancelled once placed. Email info@n75motorsports.ca before ordering; a Facebook or Instagram message is usually the quickest way to reach us.

FAQ

Which cars does this fit?

The Hyundai Veloster Turbo 2019-2021 and the Kia Forte GT 2020 onward, both on the 1.6T Gamma engine with the electronic wastegate actuator.

Do I need a tune and other mods?

Yes. Full bolt-ons and a supporting N75 tune are required. Pair it with our VT2 and Forte GT remote tune. Supporting hardware we sell includes the 1.6T high-flow downpipe, the Xforce mid pipe and the LR3 ignition coils. The 300 whp result on our test car also used a front-mount intercooler (FMIC) kit.

What is the difference between NO CORE and CORE CHARGE?

With NO CORE (SENDING IN YOUR TURBO), you send in your own turbo to be used as the core for the build. With CORE CHARGE (TURBO EXCHANGE PROGRAM), you pay a core charge and receive a built turbo from our exchange stock, rather than waiting while we build your own unit.

How much power does it make?

On our own test car it made 291 whp on 91-octane Shell V-Power and 297 whp on pump gas without WMI, and it is capable of 330 whp+ with more fuel and supporting mods. The result depends on your fuel, mods and tune.
